Ah, three zombie-ish movies inside 72 hours. Life is good...and death is good I guess if you're a zombie.
28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, and Ravenous.
All were great. 28 Days Later with it's pragmatism and realism (and Cillian Murphy in full nudity...what a bod...nice to see straight girls/gay boys get some eye candy), 28 Weeks Later with it's extreme gore level, and Ravenous with one of the weirdest soundtracks I have ever heard and some of my favorite actors; Jeffrey Jones, Robert Carlyle (also in 28 Weeks), Guy Pearce and a embarrassingly small part for David Arquette (what a waste of an actor). I love zombie movies like 28 Days/28 Weeks because the zombies are NEVER the major cause of trouble, they're simply a force of nature that can get you killed if you're not careful. What screws everyone up are the people that aren't zombies. We have met the enemy and they are us. Frackin love it.
Watched 28 Weeks and Ravenous at my dear friend LK's. Frack, I love cats. I NEED CATS. Seriously. Every time I visit LK, not long after I arrive her two cats become semi-glued to me. One of them head butts to show affection...they're so cute. I just wish she would trim the frackin nails. Please baby, trim the nails!

Makes me miss my cats from back home. Sadly I couldn't bring them to Montreal but I did find them good homes. Sweetie, super smart little tortoiseshell who would play fetch with me, carry on conversations with me like I was another cat, and wake me at 4am for her scheduled tummy rub, and Mystery, a male tuxedo, not the brightest cat on the block (certainly nowhere near as bright as Sweetie) but I couldn't fault him as he was the textbook loving lap cat.
Anyways, life is good. Yes, I already said that but it's worth repeating. The winter mood swings are gone. There's something about spring...inspires hope, a sense of change...just as it did a year ago when I risked everything, uprooted, and moved hundreds of kilometers from my previous home of Toronto to Montreal. An adventurous year later, I'm happy, successful, and loved...no SO as yet but I am loved by my new friends here, and I love them.
